The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center is organizing monthly community video gaming nights for individuals with physical disabilities living in the community. These events will feature multiple video gaming stations with PlayStation, Xbox, Switch 2, VR, and PC consoles, allowing participants to game together. There will also be friendly competitions during the events with prizes! Accessible gaming equipment will be available for individuals who experience challenges using standard controllers. Additionally, those who have difficulty accessing a standard controller can register for a free adaptive gaming evaluation by an experienced clinician and have the opportunity to receive adaptive gaming equipment at no cost to themselves or their families. Friday, May 15th, 2026
This Ryan Shazier fundraising event takes place on May 15, 2026, at Acrisure Stadium. Celebrity jockeys and “horses” are in training for what has been traditionally ranked as one of Pittsburgh’s best parties. The mock horse racing event (think of the Kentucky Derby with a Steel City flair) features a roster of current and former Steelers and other Pittsburgh icons! You’ll also enjoy great food, music, a live auction, and the chance to bet on the celebrity race (last year’s winners split a pot of more than $100,000).
