Inglis’ Home Modifications for Independence Program, a statewide initiative that provides free home accessibility modifications for Pennsylvanians living with disabilities.
This program currently has grant funding specifically for individuals with traumatic spinal cord injuries (SCI), and they are actively seeking referrals. Their goal is to help clients transition safely back into their homes—or remain there—by addressing accessibility needs that promote independence and reduce rehospitalization risk.
Inglis works closely with rehabilitation case workers like you to support discharge planning and long-term care goals. Some of the common modifications offered include:
Barrier-free bathroom renovations
Ramps
Stair and platform lifts
Door widening and other structural adjustments
Their team manages the entire process, from home assessments to contractor coordination, and there is no cost to the participant. They serve clients statewide across Pennsylvania and partner with local, vetted contractors.
